Frequently asked
Can I use a rented address as my registered office?
In principle yes, provided the address can receive service of process and you are genuinely reachable there. A plain post box is not enough. How strictly the authority reads this in a given case is worth clarifying with your tax adviser first.
What does a registered office cost in Austria?
Between roughly €45 and 150 a month, depending on the provider and what is included. Plain mail addresses sit at the lower end; a registered seat with a nameplate and real reachability sits in the middle. In Altach the business address is €59 and the registered office €99 a month, both cancellable monthly.
Does a GmbH need its own office?
No. A GmbH needs a registered seat, not its own office space. Plenty of small companies work remotely and use a rented registered-office address. What matters is that someone is genuinely reachable at that seat.
